This single also earned David Clayton Thomas a spot in the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.
In 1968 David Clayton Thomas released his debut album with Blood, Sweat & Tears. This album was the first in history to have three U.S. gold singles on it, and “You Made Me So Very Happy” was one of them. With the help of this song, the album topped Billboard’s album chart for seven weeks straight.
“God Bless The Child” was originally released by Billie Holiday in 1942. It was then recorded by Blood, Sweat & Tears in 1968 as part of their first self titled album, “Blood, Sweat & Tears”.
