Lawrence Henry Gowan began his musical journey as a student at Toronto’s Royal Conservatory of Music. Trained as a classical pianist, "Larry" naturally gravitated towards the 1970's 'progressive rock' genre. His first commercial breakthrough, "Strange Animal", was recorded over 30 years ago.
“Moonlight Desires” was released in 1987 as part of Gowan’s album “Great Dirty World”. The album, “Great Dirty World”, was very successful for Gowan and in 1987 it was nominated for a Juno Award as “Album of the Year”.
